Throughout his career he has written for artists including Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and Xzibit. Jones portrays politician-turned-crime boss Tobias Whale, who serves as the leader of a gang called The In the made-up city of Freeland, Jefferson Pierce, aka Black Lightning, is the hero and Whale is his antagonist — a character Jones brings to life via his powerful voice that bellows over top of his thick red beard. A characteristic Jones shares with the Whale is that both men are African-American with albinism, a rare genetic condition affecting 1 in 20, in the United States. Jones completely embraces his rareness. Before the wrap of season one of Black Lightning , The Undefeated spoke with Jones about the moment he got the call to audition for Tobias Whale, his favorite musical artists, past and present, the plight of Colin Kaepernick and the experience of being a black man in America with albinism.
Elusive, persistent and powerful, Tobias had grand ambitions and with his army of thugs and metahumans, the resources to achieve them. There was little that Black Lightning could do but clench his fists in frustration as Tobias evaded arrest or was released from jail again and again. And then Agent Odell arrived. Held within a sparse, compact cell, Tobias has—at least until very recently—been denied the drug that keeps him young and provides him with super strength. Lynn Stewart. Fortunately, Jones is far less menacing in real life than he is on screen, as we learned when we recently spoke with him on the Black Lightning set. How much of a change has it been going from being the big guy on the Freeland streets last season to being imprisoned by the ASA in season three? I think it's been an interesting dynamic.

Jones grew up in South Central , Los Angeles. Krondon also ghostwrites for other rappers, such as Snoop Dogg , Dr. Dre , and Xzibit. Krondon appeared in a episode of Harry's Law.
In more recent times, some people will have heard of him because of his casting as Tobias Whale in Black Lightning, meaning that he will be playing the arch-nemesis of the titular superhero. Krondon has albinism, which is when a person has a congenital disorder that causes either a partial or a total lack of pigment in their eyes, their hair, and their skin. It seems probable that this was one of the reasons that he was chosen to play Tobias Whale, who is a character with the same congenital disorder.
